The Jax

This Lexington gem, The Jax,  has absolutely stolen my heart since their opening back in the spring. If you know me at all, you know I’m here at least one night a week…if not two…and possibly three. The passion that Aimee and Brad (the brother/sister duet) have put into making their dream of The Jax come true, really shows in everything from the decor, to the wait staff, the entertaining bartender’s, and of course in each dish that is brought out to a table.  Everything on the menu is amazing (no really…I’m not kidding). The Executive chef, Natalie Blake, of Hell’s Kitchen (season nine) and a native of Harrodsburg, Kentucky is spot on with delectable dish.

My favorites on the menu include (see menu here): The Potsickers, The Ravioli, The Jax Burgers, The Jax Tacos, The Steak and Fries, The Bangkok (Jesse’s fav!), The Lexington Pasta (and yes…the pasta is from Lexington Pasta Co.), and the Havana Sliders. Not to mention…on Tuesday nights are half off bottles of wine, Wednesday nights are 12 for $12 oyster’s, and live music on Friday and Saturday nights …and don’t even get me started on the great “Social Hour” every night (5-7 PM and 11 PM-1 AM).

If you have not been to The Jax for dinner yet…drop everything and go now (and if you need a date…call me)!

If the bread is good…the food is usually good (and this bread is so good!):

Ahhh…the infamous Jax Tacos:

The Steak and Fries (seriously one of the best steaks I’ve had in Lexington):

This Friday, September 20th, The Jax will be opening their second floor lounge, The Black Jax. I was able to attend the premiere party a few weeks back and got a sneak peak.

In my opinion, The Black Jax is icing on the cake (we all know cake is good…but with icing…OMG!) The vision for The Black Jax is to use the space for extra dinning during the week and weekends until 10 PM,  it can be reserved for parties/groups (ask how to become a Black Jax card holder for VIP access), and on the weekends, after 10 PM it will be utilized as a bar/lounge  for you to hang with friends, sip on a cocktail, and enjoy some live music (PS…The Jax knows music!)
