I have visited Minton’s at 760 a handful of times now (two times for dinner and one time for brunch) and I can honestly say it is a hidden gem. By hidden I mean, I have driven down North Limestone, past North Lime Coffee and Doughnuts (yum!), and have driven right past this adorable restaurant without even knowing it was there. By gem, I mean the food is tasty, down home-esque (hot browns, meatloaf, ribs) with a little flair and the desserts are off the chart delicious (Can I get doughnut bread pudding delivered please??). Minton’s is completely different from anything else in Lexington.
I am absolutely obsessed with their chalk board menu! Could it be any more colorful and inviting? (the chalkboard previews the brunch/lunch menu).

The Apple Cinnamon French Toast (Oh this was soooo good. My sister kept stealing bites!)
Covered in an apple flavored glaze (think the sauce from cooked apples) on it instead of a traditional syrup which I was huge fan of!
The Brunch Hot Brown (A classic Hotbrown topped with an egg over medium). About half the size of the dinner hotbrown and a perfect brunch dish that you cannot find anywhere else in Lexington.
The Dinner Hotbrown (the classic version with turkey, ham, applewood smoked bacon (and tomato but I asked for no tomato), all on top of toast and covered in homemade cheese sauce…also available in a Vegetarian option). The cheese sauce here at Minton’s is spot on! Too many places go for more of a gravy/cheese sauce, which I do not care for as much. The bacon is thick and flavorful (we were told it is baked, not fried which makes all the difference). I love the chunks of turkey and thin deli sliced ham.
The Turkey Meatloaf with carrots and mashed potatoes. I cannot speak to this dish as I am not a meatloaf person…husband however is a meatloaf person and downed this…so it has to be good!
Also The Turkey Meatloaf (from a few weeks ago) with mushrooms (Husband preferred this version better but both were delicious).
The Doughnut Bread Pudding (oh yes, it is as amazing as it sounds! ). Ooh-ey, gooey and absolutely delicious. A nice twist on the traditional bread pudding.
The Pumpkin Cheesecake (perfect for sharing because it comes with two little cakes!) A pumpkin cupcake on the outside, a pumpkin cheese cake on the inside. Topped with a smidge of whipped cream icing and pecans. It’s a perfect fall, sweet treat.
Tips on dining at Minton’s at 760:
Minton’s is only open for dinner on Thursday through Saturday nights from 5:00-9:00 PM. The restaurant is very intimate (only 4-5 tables of 4 seats) so I would highly recommend a reservation. Minton’s does not have alcohol (no beer or wine either) as they are too small to obtain a liquor license, however you can BYOB or BYOW.
Minton’s is open for Brunch/Lunch Tuesday through Sunday 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM (no reservations available)…next on my Minton’s “to try” list is the Porkies (lunch menu). It’s pulled pork on french toast with a little powdered sugar! Oh my! Who wants to be my lunch date??
When looking for Minton’s, head down North Limestone (also called NoLi), past North Lime Coffee and Doughnuts (located at the corner of 6th Street and NoLi), past Seventh Street (this is where NoLi begins two lanes again) and then keep your eye out for it on the right. There will be a cool looking older yellow building (which is now a Tattoo parlar) and then right after will be Minton’s. If you make it to Loudon, then you went too far. Parking is scarce so if you see a spot on the road grab it. There is some parking in the lot that Minton’s shares with the Hair Salon.
You will love Minton’s and it’s charming, intimate atmosphere, with its delicious, southern cuisine! Definitely add it on your “to-visit” list of local Lexington restaurants.
