La Petite Creperie can be found on Kentucky Avenue across from Woodland Park in the most adorable house on the street (I say this because it’s easy to miss if you are looking for something other than a house). What started as a food stand at the Farmer’s Market, owned by two local French teachers, has blossomed into a brick and mortar. As a Lexington local, I could not be happier..now I don’t have to travel to NYC to enjoy this french treat.
The Creperie is open Tuesday through Friday 11 AM-9 PM, Saturday 9 AM-9PM and Sunday 9 AM-2 PM. For more information about hours, location, etc. visit La Petie Creperie’s Facebook page here.
Now, onto what to expect when you visit the Creperie.
My favorite time to visit is during the warmer season, so I can sit on the patio across from woodland park and share a crepe with my someone special. But be warned…once you have a crepe from here you will keep coming back no mater what the temperature outside!
Upon arrival, head up to the counter and grab a menu.
Next is the hard part (deep breath in)…Do you order a sweet crepe or a savory crepe? I am a creature of habit and always go for sweet (usually a fruit and Nutella…brown sugar/cinnamon is amazing too) The crepes are priced by how much or little you put in them. For example a Nutella/banana crepe would run you $6 (The Paris that includes two sweet garnitures).
As does bacon…
Once you have come to a conclusion…head to the counter and place your order. Drink options include fountain soda (coke products), bottles soda, fair trade coffee, water, French wine and French beer. They do accept credit cards but only Visa, Mastercard and Discover…and of course they accept that green paper stuff that some people still like to carry around (that’s a little joke for my mom…who gives me grief for never having cash).
Once you have ordered, find a table (inside or out…depending on the season) and your freshly made crepe will be delivered to you.
La Petite Creperie has also has other menu options such as grilled cheeses, soups, and salads. I personally, have not had anything other than a crepe and cannot speak to those items (I’m sure the other options are amazing but let’s be honest… I love crepes…I can’t fathom coming here and NOT ordering one).
One of my all time favorite crepes…The Bourbon Ball Crepe (how much more local can you get than that?!)
Go ahead…go order one…it’s as awesome as it looks!
